Director Kathy Browning has made a profound impact through her creating and producing 14 compelling videos profiling visual artists in Greater Sudbury. These videos highlight the rich tapestry of Indigenous, Francophone, and Anglophone artists and their interconnectedness with the community.

Kathy not only created these videos but also provided captions and Teacher’s Facilitation Guides while sharing her students’ exemplars and curriculum at provincial, national, and international conferences.

Her groundbreaking video series has received accolades, including the Curriculum Services Canada Seal of Approval and the Canadian Network for Innovation in Education’s Excellence and Innovation in the Integration of Technology in the K – 12 Classroom award. Kathy’s commitment to excellence recently earned her a national publication award from the Arts Researchers and Teachers Society for her article entitled: Innovative Exemplars and Curriculum Created from On-line Videos of Visual Artists in Greater Sudbury, featured in the Journal of the Canadian Association for Curriculum Studies. Kathy donated sets of 14 DVDs to 11 universities across Canada including 6 universities in Ontario and available through University of Waterloo Media Resources. These videos can be used in numerous disciplines for teaching and learning at the elementary, secondary, and university levels.
